Visiting the Liseberg Amusement Park

"You may say that I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us and the world will be as one." - John Lennon.

The Liseberg amusement park in Gothenburg, Sweden where there's something for everyone; it's the most fun in Scandinavia. Besides the wild rides and games, there's also Summer entertainment. The day we were there, Mary J Blige was in concert. As we were leaving the park, evening strollers entered the park heading to the venue for the pre-show champagne.

We spent all day at the park standing in long lines. My favorite ride was AtmosFear, a 116 meter tall drop tower - the tallest drop tower in Europe and drops riders from a height of 90 meters. It was wild, with panoramic views on the way up. As we went higher and higher passing the ferris wheel, I felt fear mostly of the height, not so much of falling. My family on the other hand loves roller coasters so they rode the "helix" , the new generation roller coaster, and "balder" the biggest and most thrilling wooden coaster in the world - while I stayed grounded

Then I saw "this" beautiful carousel and was immediately drawn to it as the kid in me always wanted to ride something this beautiful. The craftsmanship of this centuries old carousel was like being in a candy store. So much to look at and the intricate design left me standing in awe before it. The vivid colors that withstood time - with maintenance of course, but it still looked grand.  Not a light bulb was missing as it lit up the ride. Carefree riders enjoyed every spin on this beauty. Overall we had a blast at the Liseberg amusement park.  It's a highly recommended must go to venue in Gothenberg.
